Help Eddie Play Pro Ball

Eddie was a 4 four year player at St. John's University. He got a chance to make his dream come true in 2012 when he was signed by the Toronto Blue Jays. Unfortunately, Eddie failed his physical during Spring Training. He had a herniated disc (L5, S1) in his lower back - rerouting his career. About to start his third year of Professional Indy Ball, Eddie is now healthy and has the tools necessary to get back to the affiliated level. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Independent Baseball, it is a professional level of baseball with great talent - but at times, lacks the funding to take care of the players. As a member of the Old Orchard Beach Surge of the North Country Baseball League, Eddie has earned the Opening Day start at their home ballpark in Maine. As the home opener inches closer, Eddie is currently spending his nights at the clubhouse and sleeping in the car. A small group of players are still without host families and a place to stay. With little pay, and no place to stay, the long grind of a season seems like the least of his worries. This account was created to help Eddie get the shot that he has worked so hard for and to allow him to concentrate solely on baseball and not the obstacles in his way. For those of you who know Eddie, you see how hard he works, and know that he belongs at the Major League Level. Anything done to help him will help his chances. We all know how much this means to him and how much he deserves it.
