Eddie Vetter- Lung Cancer Campaign

Hello Everyone,
 
My father is a hardworking man who does his best to provide for his family. He never took a sick day off work, he worked long hours and he still found the time to help people he didn’t even know. I wish more people were like my father. He has been my idol since I was a kid and that still hasn’t changed to this day.
 
Now, he fights an uphill battle with cancer. He was too worried about providing for his family that he didn’t bat an eye when he thought something was wrong with him. We noticed he would hit his chest randomly several months back. We then started to notice his breathing was getting louder and full of what seemed like water sounds. In a matter of little over a month, he dropped over 30lbs even though he eats so much. This is when we knew something was wrong and forced him to the ER at Methodist in Richardson, TX.
 
At first, it seemed nothing more than Pneumonia, until one of the scans showed an anomaly on his upper right lung. After a few days, we were told it was cancer and all my father would think of was his family. Not even a worry about himself.
 
Many people would assume this was self-caused from smoking; however, this is not the case. The tumor was formed through an outside bacterium that entered his body. We are unsure how or when this happened.
 
I do not want my father to worry anymore about us. I want him to know we are taken care of and that many people do care about each other in this world. My own mother has not left his side once since this started and after work each day I go to his bedside.
