Eddie Naikaci

If you been to Tavarua over the years you know Eddie! For so many of us he’s part of our Fijian family. Memories with him on the island or on the boats fishing. In 2020 Eddie began having heart issues, in 2021 he was admitted to the hospital in Nadi for chest pain, then sent home since treatment in Fiji was not possible and travel to India during Covid for surgery also wasn’t possible. He’s taken it easy since 2021 to not to exert himself, Eddie went into a new Heart Institute in Nadi run by doctors from India. He was diagnosed with Myocardial Ischemia (Blocked Arteries) affecting the blood flow to his heart resulting in his symptoms. They now have the ability to perform this procedure in Fiji.

By American standards the procedure is not that expensive, by Fijian standards its cost prohibitive. We’re trying to raise $9,500 US which will cover the cost of the surgery and up to five stents. 100% goes to Eddie. This is a lifesaving surgery, anything put on your heart to give will help make it happen.
