We are colleagues and friends of Eddie and we have created this GoFundMe account to help support him during this difficult time.
It's hard to believe that Eddie - our joyful, hard-working, and trustworthy colleague and friend is suffering from Stage 4 Liver and Lung Cancer. This is a second big hit after he was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in 2019 and beat it!
Few months ago he went to the doctor thinking he was having stomach/digestion/acid reflux issues. It resulted in a number of follow-up tests, biopsies, and scans and ultimately his doctor diagnosed that the cancer had moved to his liver and lungs. Everything happened with lightning speed! He was shedding weight like crazy and was down from 220lbs to 150lbs in a couple of months.
Eddie is an individual that brings joy and laughter to everyone around him. Working with him has no boring moment. To know Eddie is to love Eddie! He has a great personality, he smiles with all his heart, poses a jovial attitude, and his love for food is only matched by the size of his heart. He is a great friend to many and brings fun and happiness to anyone that crosses his path.
Despite knowing the odds stacked against him, Eddie never stopped fighting - he underwent several tests and is undergoing chemotherapy at Ironwood Cancer Treatment and holistic support at the wellness center in Scottsdale. He has had 9 rounds of chemotherapy so far and is fighting it with a smile every second. Through it all, he kept working until a few months ago and has kept his amazing optimistic outlook.
Despite all the treatment and chemotherapy, Eddie was diagnosed terminal in August 2020. The time he has with us all is cruelly short, but he will leave behind a legacy of love and friendship that will be cherished. His family, friends, and colleagues are doing their best to prepare and support him during this time.
We want to raise money so Eddie's time left can be spent with family and close friends and not worrying about finances. The best way to help him is through this GoFundMe. There are a variety of costs that need to be managed, which are not limited to his medical bills.
