Eddie Huerta Battles Cancer

A child of God, husband, father, friend, son, brother, teacher and to others, Coach Eddie. He has served in the Orange County community as an educator at Newhart Middle School for 28 years. Eddie has coached soccer in Orange County for 30 years.

In the classroom he’s encouraging and inspiring students to be the best version of themselves. Eddie strives to make his students and players believe that they can make their world and the world around them a better place.

Eddie believes that he has been blessed and that he can conquer any battle that life throws at him. Coach Eddie is now in the storm of his life in a private battle with stage 4 kidney cancer that has metastasized to aggressive lung cancer. Diagnosed in 2022, he and his family continue to forge forward battling this cruel disease in private. It was at the point, when in the emergency room, Tuesday, January 23rd, that they realized they needed help from their family, friends, and community.

• Eddie has been brave and courageous through this journey.

• He has pushed himself to get treatments and walk on the soccer field to continue to coach his players to believe and battle.

• Eddie has continued in the classroom to teach students to be their best.

Eddie and his family need financial help to continue to fight this storm as he no longer has the ability to coach soccer or teach school at this stage of his cancer struggle.
