Hello,

My name is Leticia Magallanes, I am the youngest daughter of Sherial and Edward Magallanes. On March 19th, 2025 my dad was watering his trees outside and had a terrible fall. This fall caused a severe fracture to his spine and he was flown out from Yuma, AZ to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix, AZ for an emergency surgery. After this serious spinal operation, the doctors have come to the conclusion my dad Eddie has been diagnosed with paralysis from the chest down. Meaning he has no feeling nor function from below his chest. The doctors have expressed they are doing all that they can but there is no promise he will regain any function. They are transferring him to rehabilitation center to assist in this new transition in his life. They will teach him how to use his upper body strength to support his lower body that does not have function. As his daughter, I am creating this page to ask friends and family to help with funding to make my parents home wheel chair accessible and any out of pocket expenses they may have related to his hospital stay. This will be a long and hard journey on not only my parents but on us as his children. I understand this is a big ask, but if you are unable to assist with any funding please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers.
