Over the past eight months, our lives have been turned upside down.
In July 2025, my husband Eddie was diagnosed with Stage 3 cancer. Out of respect for his privacy, we won’t be sharing the specific type, and we truly appreciate everyone understanding.
Shortly after his diagnosis, he experienced a serious medical emergency that required hospitalization, transfusions, and emergency surgery. Thankfully, he pulled through. Soon after his recovery, he began months of radiation and chemotherapy. It was a long and difficult road, but he faced it with incredible strength and determination.
The past 8 months have tested us in ways we never imagined, but our love for each other and our faith carried us through.
We kept this journey mostly private so we could focus on Eddie’s health during such a difficult time.
And now, the news we’ve been praying for…
Eddie is 100% cancer free!!!
While we are incredibly grateful for this outcome, we are now facing an unexpected financial challenge due to an issue with his health insurance. Because Eddie has been on long-term disability, his employer’s insurance assumed he was enrolled in Medicare Part B and began processing claims as secondary through his Aetna insurance through his job, instead of primary. However, he does not have Medicare Part B.
Because of this, from February 1st until he returns to work, his insurance is only paying at a secondary rate, leaving us with approximately $10,000 in medical bills that would normally have been covered.
After everything we’ve been through, asking for help is not easy. Any donation would mean so much to us as we work to recover from this difficult year.
Most importantly, thank you for celebrating this incredible news with us — Eddie being cancer free is the greatest blessing we could have hoped for!!!
