Welcome to Team Anna!
My name is Kate. My dear friend, Anna, was diagnosed in May 2019 with Stage 4 bowel cancer. The timing of her diagnosis was particularly devastating as she and her husband, Richard, have a baby girl named Chloe who will be 1 in October.
Anna underwent major surgery a week after she was diagnosed and has since been through multiple rounds of chemotherapy. Surgery to remove liver and lymph node metastases was planned, however her most recent scan revealed that the cancer had spread to her lungs and surgery was not an option.
Anna will require cancer treatment for the rest of her life. She is currently unable to work. Her family's reduced income is spent on household expenses and ongoing out of pocket expenses associated with investigations and treatment.
I would love to be able to help out her family by raising money to assist them with some of their expenses, and to give Anna a few luxuries (like an oncology massage) to enjoy.
On Sunday 3 November 2019 at Hugs Cafe in Stafford, I will be saying goodbye to my locks and shaving my hair and I'm asking you to sponsor me. Even $1 is $1 we otherwise wouldn't have. All funds raised will be given to Anna.
