Hi, my name is Tiffany Holcomb-Works. My brother, his wife, and their 3 children had a structure fire at their home yesterday (uninsured). They lost a garage connected to their home & it spread to part of their home. My parents built this house in 1976 & it's where my brother & I grew up...many memories filled with laughter & love. The power is disconnected from the home, windows are busted out, holes in the ceiling, smoke & water damage throughout the house & basement. They also lost 2 vehicles, family heirlooms, & 1 pet. My brother attempted to save the house with a hose pipe while waiting for the volunteer Fire Department to arrive. He had to jump down through the ceiling to escape the flames as they began to rise into the rafters. His main concern was to save his family and as much of the house as he possible. Had he not done this, it would've been much worse. They need funds to clear the debris, clean up the damage, & repair their home. They will also need to replace carpet/flooring, furniture, & clothes as a result from residual damage from the fire. The power to the house will be disconnected until the house can be rewired/repaired & inspected for safety before they're able to move back into the house. They did receive medical treatment on the scene, but any health concerns that may develop later are also of concern. We all experienced smoke inhalation from trying to save as much as possible. I am so thankful my family is safe. Things can be replaced, but my family cannot. We appreciate any help to return them back into their home. I ask that you give what you feel in your heart. Thank you all in advance.
