Ed Smith medical cost

My husband Ed and our family are in grave need of support. Ed was diagnosed with a rare strain of the influenza virus, which has caused him to have respiratory complications. He was taken to the emergency department and admitted to a local hospital where his condition deteriorated rapidly and lead to his respiratory failure. While in the intensive care unit he has undergone extensive procedures and studies. He has been in the intensive care unit on a machine helping him; however, his no improvements are noted. Throughout his hospitalization, he continues to fight the odds and we are hopeful that things will improve. 

Ed is a great grandpa, father, son, husband, and a great friend to many. His condition has devastated our family as we are trying to rationalize how someone who has no medical conditions can get to this condition. We are asking for help as ED isn't able to work, and I am at his bedside daily hoping and praying for things to improve. At this time his medical expenses are a great concern along with managing the expenses our family occurs on a daily basis. I am asking for family, friends, and the community to please help us with anything possible. My family and I will be using the donations received to help with living expenses and medical costs at this time. Your thoughts, prayers, wishes, and donations are greatly appreciated.
