Ed Sampilo was a one-of-a-kind man who showed his love for our Lord through his acts of kindness. He always had words of encouragement and an infectious smile for all.
Ed was a caring, selfless soul who rarely discussed his personal life, as he was more concerned with you and your life. Ed was the man who would give you the shirt off his back. Those who knew him would agree.
Ed was called home by our Lord on Thanksgiving Day 2019. Ed is survived by his four families: his beloved wife Tricia Walker, his two sons and daughter, two step daughters and two step sons; The Kangen Water family; his Paintball Family; and his Kings MMA family.
Ed had a passion for helping others, which showed through his work with Kangen water. He was the man who would personally deliver the Kangen water at all hours, or would invite his friends to his house to refill just to make sure they did not go without. He was an accommodating man. I personally witnessed the Kings MMA Family attend a last minute gathering at Ed’s home and the respect and love they showed for their teammate was amazing to see.
Ed also had a love for paintball. He was my first teammate 30 years ago and had been friends ever since. Ed was a killer on the field and a gentleman off the field. He was an extremely patient man (which was an asset to his playing style). He would stalk you without moving and would allow you into his lair until he could get his “one shot, one kill." Ed shone brightly and could lift the mood of those around him with his infectious smile, even as he eliminated you from the game ("waxed you").
Unknown to many, SC Village and HSP lowered their flags to half mast in his honor. I have never known Gio and Dennis to honor a player in such a manner. This act of remembrance only further speaks to the amazing and influential person Ed was and the respect garnered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
During his time, Ed touched the lives of many through his genuine kindness and unconditional love for all. I am asking for those who knew him (and even those who did not) to help secure his family going forward.
Please show your heart with what you can.
