Ed Popa & his love of furry friends & helping people in need
Ed Popa lived life to the fullest, his big smile brought joy to everyone. He loved helping others and all his furry friends. Ed volunteered for Guide Dogs NSW/ACT to train a guide dog puppy named Davina. Together they trained to wear her harness, ignore distractions, walk safe routes, and navigate roads, steps and busy areas. After a year of being best friends, Ed farewelled Davina to now be a service dog. Little did he know that Davina (and her entire litter) failed their final test, so he got the unexpected call if he wanted to adopt her as his own. Davina gave Ed so much light and love in his life.
In honour of Ed's memory, he would love his legacy of helping others to live on.
More information about Guide Dogs NSW/ACT: Every day, 28 Australians are diagnosed with uncorrectable vision loss. Of those, 9 will become blind. Through the support of people like you, we can assist more people with vision impairment and prevent avoidable sight loss. Only 1 in 4 people who need a Guide Dog have one and countless others are in need of our services. Together we can transform lives by enhancing the independence and mobility of Australians living with vision loss.
