Ed O’s – Remembering a Life that Touched So Many
Donation protected
With love (and a good dose of laughter), we’re gathering to celebrate the life of Edward O’Rea — a father, preacher, sponsor, and lifelong character who passed away after giving cancer one heck of a fight.
If you knew Edward, Ed, Ed O, Uncle Eddie, or even Joe Bob (we’re still not sure where that came from), you probably got a story, a sermon, a strong opinion, or a deep philosophical breakdown of the human condition at some point (probably all four in one conversation). He lived loud, loved deeply, and never missed a chance to help someone find their way, especially in the recovery community he held so close to his heart.
To honor him the way he would’ve wanted (with a full room, good food, and a few jokes), we’re planning three memorials:
– A church funeral in Los Angeles, where he preached and found his sobriety
– A Las Vegas NA-style celebration for the sober family he cherished
– A hometown sendoff in Louisville, KY — where it all began
We’re raising funds to help cover:
– Cremation and funeral arrangements
– Travel and venue costs
– Memorial materials like signs, photos, flowers, and programs
Anything you’re able to give (or just passing this along) helps us send Ed off the way he lived: surrounded by community, full of love, and just a little bit extra.
With so much gratitude,
