Eduardo Munoz, born on October 28, 1960, passed on September 11, 2022, in Santa Cruz, California, due to a tragic accident during the Iron Man Triathlon.

Great health and fitness were what he strived for every day. He was always the first awake in his home, motivated to start the day with a swim, which he always said was his best stress reliever. Running marathons and participating in triathlons played a significant role in his life. During his last few years, his greatest joy was to prepare and train for the Ironman Triathlon. September 11, 2022, was his second time as an Ironman participant on the mission to complete the three long-distance races. Unfortunately, he was not able to survive an accident that he experienced during this time. As sad as it may be, he died doing what he loved.

He was brave, unafraid of the most difficult challenges, hard-working, and generous. He loved so hard and so genuinely. He gave his wife and his two daughters everything they needed to succeed in life and more. They and so many more will miss him.

This sudden death of Eduardo Munoz has left everyone who loves and knows him in complete shock. The family is currently busy finalizing details for his funeral and still waiting for the medical bills from his Emergency and ICU visit in Santa Cruz on the day of Ironman Triathlon 2022. The hospital he was rushed to did everything they could to save him and worked for 10 hours performing countless procedures, but unfortunately, he was unable to make it. Because of this, we are still unsure how much the medical bills will be, but any donated amount is greatly appreciated and will help the Munoz family tremendously.
