- Hi, my name is Clydie Williams. My son Ed was diagnosed at age 5 with a Wilm's tumor (cancer of the kidney). All of his right and part of his left kidney were removed. He then had two years of chemotherapy and radiation. He did well until 2012, when he had a kidney transplant. Since then, he has been on anti-rejection drugs.
Five months ago, Ed was diagnosed with cancer in his mouth. The surgery for this is very invasive. Doctors decided to treat him with radiation and chemotherapy first. A result of that has been severe burning of his mouth and throat from the radiation he underwent. His throat became so swollen he couldn't swallow and was oxygen deprived. He had to have therapy to learn to speak again.
He has been in and out of the hospital for one thing or another every few days. Then he got pneumonia. Once again, the Hospital. He just hasn't been able to catch a break. He also hasn't been able to work. He is the sole support of his family and owns his own business. Medical bills are out of sight and adding to the stress. I am asking you to contribute $25 or what you can to help him. We don't know the end of the story yet, so the bills will keep coming for a time. I appreciate whatever you can do to help.
