My father, Ed King, was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the sinuses and nasal cavity in August of this year. Cancer of the sinuses and nose is extremely rare, less than 2,000 cases per year. It is often not found till it has grown to a devastating size, and unfortunately is the case with Dad. His tumor is larger than a baseball, and has destroyed his sinus cavities, has broken through the brain barrier, completely blocked his nostrils, and is building increasing pressure around his eyes and in his ears. The chemo he will be starting soon is very aggressive, and some of the immunotherapy treatments he will need, will not be covered by insurance. He served in the Gulf War on the USS Juneau, and has been a hard working man since he was a teenager. As many of you know, my parents were also in a horrific car accident in 2016 that left both of my parents disabled, and dad unable to work. This cancer diagnosis has been devastating and unfair, to put it plainly. Any little bit that can be donated to help cover treatments, gas, food, and care Dad will need during this battle is greatly appreciated. We thank everyone who has donated and sent prayers. We are blessed to be surrounded by such caring people. God bless.
