Ed Killian aka Hadron the Collider Memorial Fund

Edward Eugene Killian known to many in the faire community as Hadron the Collider was a gifted and talented artist, metalsmith, and entertainer. He could make magic appear out of nowhere with a glint in his eye, and created amazing, beautiful pieces of art out of metal, leather, and fiber. To be in the presence of Hadron was an enchanted experience like no other. His creativity extended to the kitchen, where he would make art out of a bowl of fruit or manage to produce a feast for many large groups fortunate enough to enjoy his amazing cooking skills at special occasions.

February 22, 2019 is the day our lives turned upside down. Our beloved father, Poppy, partner, and friend in so many ways had been struggling with mental illness for longer than most knew and was no longer able to fight his demons. He took his life in the home of one of my dearest friends, Tammy, who was his former wife. She continued to love him despite not being married, their history spanned 35+ years with marriage, having children and sharing the joy of being grandparents – he was Poppy to 5 whom he called his “grands” who loved him so.

He was staying with her temporarily for the past few months and during that time she and the rest of his family, blood and chosen, did everything they could to support him and get him the help he needed. Watching a loved one be overtaken by an awful and invisible illness is one of the most terrible things we’ve all experienced. His immediate family has endured and overcome some terrible times – yet are the most loving, generous and kind-hearted people I know. They are now facing saying final goodbyes, finding their way through this traumatic event, and putting their lives back together after this horrible tragedy.

Along with expenses related to his final preparations and hosting a celebration of life, Tammy is now faced with having to sell her home and finding a new place to live. If you are able and willing to help a grieving family in need, it would help alleviate the stress of finding ways to pay for the funeral home expenses and a modest celebration of life event. Extra funds will be put toward the expenses related to preparing Tammy’s home for sale.  If you are not able to help financially, please send peace, love and healing thoughts to the family in your own way, hold Ed/Hadron and his family gently in your hearts and share this request for help as you see fit.

The family would appreciate the sharing of any memories, photos, and stories you have of Ed or Hadron.
