Ed is a great neighbor, baseball-basketball-football coach, dad, friend, church goer, community member and all around great guy. Whatever the circumstances that led to your path to cross with his, all who know him agree he has a big heart and would be the first to offer you the shirt off his back. You cannot find a more kind hearted and fun loving guy.
Our friend has recently been diagnosed with mouth cancer. As a single dad of 3 boys, who spent the last year tending to his ex-wife as she battled breast cancer, he has faced many struggles with dignity and humor, never complaining. With this latest news, Ed remains very optimistic about his long term prognosis. As a self-employed man, he will face additional financial struggles as he focuses on the biggest battle of his life, a combined regimen of radiation and chemotherapy with a feeding tube placed directly into his stomach in the event he is not able to swallow food. Ed is a proud father, and not one to ask for help. However, the reality is that he is going to need a lot of support as he focuses on beating cancer. Being self-employed, he’s under a lot of pressure to work to just keep the roof over their head and food on the table. Let’s help ease the burden so he can maintain a positive and fighting attitude while dealing with this new challenge. Ed has helped so many through the years, now its time for us to help him. All proceeds will be used by Ed to help defray medical expenses as well as paying household bills. No donation is too small. If you are not able to help financially, there will also be opportunities to prepare meals and help with driving and other tasks during treatment.
