Ed's Story To Fight Stage 3 Cancer
In September of 2016, I felt a growth on the very top of my head. I made an appointment at Kaiser to see my doctor to show him the growth on the top of my head. He looked at it and with total certainty, he told me it was not cancerous and it would only need to be removed cosmetically. He put me on a waiting list to have it removed.
As the weeks went by, the growth continued to grow. I took action and scheduled an appointment with a local dermatology outside the Kaiser network. At that appointment, the growth on my head was removed and sent to the lab to be analyzed. In mid-December 2016, I got the results back and was told I have a melanoma on the top of my head which needed to be removed immediately.
My surgery was done on January 6, 2017 and the cancerous growth turned out to be 5.5 mm, and unfortunately, the aggressive melanoma cancer has spread to my lymphnodes.
At this point, my future is unknown, my work does not provide medical insurance, my Obama care medical insurance has doubled, and my several medical bills have skyrocketed.
For example, just my MRIs and CAT scans have acquired a minimum of a $300 co-pay each visit. I have also had several follow-ups and will continue to have several follow-up appointments. I am doing everything I can to have the best chances of survival.
This includes an alternative approach to increasing my immune system. Which means that I am overloading my body with fruits and vegetables through juicing on a strict, non-toxic diet. The costs of my alternative approach is expensive - from the juicer, special herbs, and foods to make healing soups and meals.
I need your help to prepare for my future as my future health is unknown. I work a modified schedule based on my current energy level. I do not know how much longer I will be able to work as I go through my healing journey.
Your contribution means that I would continue to financially contribute to my family and pay for the necessary treatment to stay healthy and fight for my future.
I’m grateful for your support and prayers, thank you.
