Help Monica and Ed Through Their Medical and Financial Crisis

If you know Monica and Ed, you know two of the most selfless, kind-hearted people you’ll ever meet. They’re the first ones to jump in when someone is in need—offering their time, meals, rides, or simply a listening ear. Today, they’re the ones who need our help.

In the span of just a few short months, this loving couple has been dealt an unimaginable hand.

Monica has recently endured two terrifying bouts of sepsis, each requiring hospitalization. As many know, sepsis is a life-threatening condition that can have lasting effects—and Monica is still not out of the woods. Doctors now believe something may be wrong with her heart, and she’s currently wearing a monitor as they work to determine the cause of her continued health struggles.

While the family was still reeling from Monica’s health crisis, Ed—her husband and the family’s main provider—was suddenly hospitalized this past Monday with a debilitating and still-undiagnosed illness. It has been a very scary week. He’s getting better but doctors have advised him not to return to work for at least another week, possibly longer.

With both Monica’s time unable to work and now Ed, the financial toll has been devastating.

This is a couple that has always done everything they can to support their community and friends. They are proud, hardworking people who have never asked for help—but right now, they need it.

Several of you have asked what we can do to help and I think this is the best way: I am setting up a go fund me to benefit the Moloughney family .

I have not asked Monica and Ed or even told them about it because I know they would be too proud to accept help. I also know how dire their financial situation is . I would love to be able to surprise them with enough money to get them back on their feet . Even with Insurance and before Ed went into the hospital they had already paid out-of-pocket more than $10,000 in medical expenses alone this year. I can’t imagine what their bills are currently.
