Ed and April could use your help

As I sit here typing this, I never in my wildest dreams thought we would be in this situation with the need of so much help.  So if I may have a moment of your time, I would like to share our story.  Ed and I have been together  for 12 years now(married for 10 of those years) and on May 24, 2020 the in sickness and health and for better or for worse of our vows came into play. That afternoon I took Ed to the Emegency room at Baton Rouge General, and due to covid-19 I was not allowed to go in with him.  After 4 hours of sitting in my car, Ed texted me and said they were going to admit him. Leaving him that night was very hard to do....little did I know but things were going to get a lot worse.  Ed was diagnosed with gall stones and pancreatitis and for the next 3 weeks he stays in the hospital.  Of course he needs to have his gall bladder removed but due to the amount of infection and fluid in and around his pancreas and the fact that his kidneys quit working twice, the Drs felt it would be best to wait on surgery.  Just before he is discharged the hospital, some new imaging was done and he still had a lot of fluid surrounding his pancreas. The doctors being on the cautious and optimistic side send him home and want him to regain his strength and heal and then repeat imaging in another few weeks to check healing and see if he can have the surgery.  With everyone in agreement, Ed is sent home with home health, nurse, PT and OT coming to help regain his strength.  Ed is only home one week before tragedy strikes.  He starts having severe pain in his abdomen again but this  time he says it's different than before.  Off to the emergency room we go, still not allowing visitors I leave him and head for home. Before I even make it home the doctor is calling and said we are rushing him to surgery right now.  Surgery lasted 3 hours and the doctor comes and informed me that he suffered  a ruptured bowel and he had infected pancreas necrosis( basically it was abscessed and dying). So the Dr tells me he repaired the bowel but the only thing to do for the pancreas was to debride the dead tissue and hope for the best, and it would  have to be debrided every 3-4 days. Because he would have to have so many surgeries back to back his abdomen was left open and he was left on the ventilator and 3 weeks in ICU.  The morning that his second surgery was to be done his ICU nurse noticed Ed was not having any movement from his left side so a CT scan was done......yep you guessed it a STROKE.  What a huge setback, this stroke has his left him unable to use his left side and has also affected his short term memory and he has an enormous amount of anxiety. Well here we are now 5 surgeries later, still has an open abdomen and no close date in sight. The hospital said he is not sick enough for them and too sick to go home so he was transferred to a long term acute care facility.  Due to Ed's level of anxiety he can't  really be left alone.  I have tried to work some days between surgeries and he would call me at least 6 times throughout the day all in a panic. Now here is the kicker, the LTAC that he was transferred to is not allowing  visitors due to covid- 19 but will make an exception for me to stay, but that means I have to stay full time with him. So I do the only option I could do for my family. I leave my job and move in the hospital with Ed.  So now what, we will most likely be here for months with no incoming money and expenses  still  accumulating. Now if you have read this far, I am asking from the bottom of my heart for any donation you feel led to give. I promise it will be spent towards Ed's  recovery and expenses.  Thank you so much for your time and may God bless each and everyone of you.
