Portoviejo Ecuador Earthquake Fund

Thank you so much for visiting our page and for your interest in helping the people of Ecuador!  My name is Mary Navia Knezevic and together with my daughter, we are trying to raise money to help the people from my hometown of Portoviejo, Ecuador who have been devastated by the recent earthquakes.   We currently live in Carpinteria, California and although we wish we could be there ourselves to help our people,  we cannot.  So raising money to buy food, water, blankets, first aid kits, etc. was the best way that we felt we could contribute.  Please read on for more details!We would like to raise awareness for a cause that is in need of our immediate attention! Ecuador has suffered a massive 7.8 earthquake followed by another 6.1 earthquake one day later.  This event has inflicted unimaginable pain and suffering!

The hardest hit region is Manabi.  This is the area where our family is from, specifically from the city of Portoviejo where I grew up.

The people there need our help, and they need it now.   Many families have lost loved ones and need our support. Over 500 people have died and the death toll is rising, not only adults, but children and babies too.   We need to unite and help our fellow humans. Stand up and help these people who have nowhere to live, no clean water to drink, and no food to eat, because their homes and maybe even their families are gone.   Many of our family and friends are suffering from this earthquake and their hearts are broken. I want to make everyone aware of the pain that the people in Ecuador are going through.

We have established a relief fund. We are asking for your help to raise money for the people in Portoviejo, Ecuador, who need our help.  The money will be given to the Municipal County of Portoviejo, a very reliable and legitimate organization, so that they can distribute supplies quickly and directly to the people.  Please help us to give our people hope in their time of darkness and need!
