My brother's fight against cancer

Donation protected
Alejandro Rene Fimbres. He’s Mojo to his friends, but he’s brother to me.
My brother was born in 1987 and I was only 4 years old when he arrived, but I knew even then that our friendship would last a lifetime, and that I would do anything to keep him safe.
Alex was diagnosed with cancer in January of this year and words cannot describe the effect his diagnosis has had on our family. Alex was diagnosed with Stage 4 B-cell Lymphoma, germinal center type. This all started when he noticed a small growth in his left thigh about six months and went to a local hospital where the doctor performed an ultrasound and was given 7 days of antibiotics. He was told the growth was most likely an abscess and would clear with the medication. Thinking nothing serious about it and experiencing no other symptoms he went on with his life. Unfortunately, the pain in his thigh gradually increased over time enough to force him to seek a second opinion in December of 2022. At this time is when we first found out that the mass in his leg was cancerous. He has now agreed to undergo chemotherapy and has already had two treatments. These chemotherapy treatments are outside Imperial Valley and he must travel approximately two and a half hours away to San Diego. His treatment requires someone to accompany him overnight for about 2-3 days every 21 days. Though most of this is financially covered by insurance through his employer, his policy won’t cover
everything. This treatment plan and schedule do not allow Alex to work for the time being. His sick and vacation time will soon run out, as he has already taken time off to find out what was causing his pain. His coworkers have graciously donated from their own time but it will not be long before this runs out too. Alex is currently on state disability, but this too will not cover most of those additional costs. As exhausting and painful as the physical effects of his disease are, and as agonizing as the emotional
and mental aspects of his disease are, miserably so are the financial ones. My family and I are asking for your help to raise any amount to keep Alex financially stable through the
beginning stages of his treatment. We hope, and pray to God, that when his treatment works and helps his body recover, he can resume his normal life. The very last thing anyone with a cancer diagnosis need is to worry about how to pay for everything. I am determined to do whatever I can to help Alex in his fight against cancer, but I cannot do it on my own.
Please help my family and I make this journey easier for my brother by eliminating the financial worry so he could focus on fighting this cancer head-on.
Our prayers are with you, and anyone who has been shocked with a cancer diagnosis. Thank you...
