I am Maha Abdel Hakim Mansour, a social worker, a single mother to my only child, a six-year-old daughter.
In this catastrophe, I have lost my livelihood, our stable life, and our beautiful dreams. I used to always provide psychological and social support to children and women, but today, my angel and I need psychological support after losing everything.
We have been displaced from our home to refugee camps in Rafah, fleeing from death with nothing but the clothes on our backs. Every night, my daughter wakes up screaming in fear from the sounds we hear and from the insects that bite us.
We have lost the most basic of our rights: safety, shelter, and healthy food. My daughter has suffered from malnutrition and numerous diseases due to the lack of clean water and regular bathing. My top priority is the safety and future of my daughter, and the safety of my parents. My father, who is 66 years old, suffers from open-heart surgery and hepatitis.
My mother, who is 62 years old, suffers from chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes. Deciding to ask for your support was not easy, but all the suffering, deprivation, and fear we have experienced over the past eight months, unable to leave the country devastated by occupation due to financial constraints, has forced me to ask for your help.
My goal is to evacuate to a safe place for my family and me. - The cost of evacuation is $5,000 for myself, $3,000 for my daughter, and $5,000 each for my father and mother. - Additionally, I need some funds to rent a house in Egypt, buy clothes for my daughter, and some toys she has been deprived of since our displacement. I also want to enroll my daughter in school to ensure she does not miss out on her right to education, which is estimated to cost $10,000. - I need to buy medicines and medical supplies for my mother and father, who have been deprived of them due to the war, worsening their health condition, estimated at $5,000. - Finally, I wish to return to practicing my profession by opening a center to provide psychological and social services to children and women, estimated to cost $20,000.
