Eco Housing Rebuild for Baja Fire Victims

So many of you have asked how you can help during the firestorm that we had in Baja a couple of months ago. Thank you for your relief efforts. The food and supplies helped families that were effected through one of the most difficult times we've seen in this area.

Now comes the really challenging part. The rebuilding process.

Our town has come together under one umbrella and formed a collective called La Mision Strong/La Mision Fuerte. Our rebuild committee has been pushing for eco, sustainable, fireproof building materials and we have the architect who has been building this way all over Mexico and beyond.

We got the approval to start with the first family. Six of them have been living in extremely modest conditions since the fires and are ready to move into an insulated home with doors and plumbing. This will be a model home for the government to follow suit if all goes well.

Mario Tapia will teach local builders, homeowners and volunteers, his inventive techniques. Upcycling and community efforts will keep the costs down but there is still a cost for raw materials.
