Dear Eckstein Alumni, Current and Future Parents, and Community Members,
The Partner Physical Education class at Eckstein Middle School is a building-funded, not district funded, physical education program that teaches students of all abilities how to learn and play alongside one another. Having incorporated this important program for two years with great success, we now need your help to continue this positive learning experience. The funds will be used to cover staff salaries, equipment, and training costs.
Although directed and planned to meet the needs of students with disabilities, a typical Partner Physical Education class has peers taking on roles as partners, leaders, and role models, establishing a culture of inclusion that fosters life-enriching friendships between the special education and general education population as a whole. In addition, partner participation encourages leadership and social competencies while developing life skills that promote wellness, fitness and motor development of all the students.
The lives of the special education students are enriched beyond measure when the walls of isolation come down, and friendship and trust are built in their school and community. And we need your help to continue to make this happen.
Please consider contributing whatever you can, so that we may continue offering a program that positively impacts the social and cultural community at our school.
Thank you!
