I’m Tom Radford, retired geophysicist and founder of Echo Shear Labs Inc. After a 35+ year career in oil & gas exploration with major discoveries worldwide, I’m now devoting my time to independent scientific research into fundamental gravity and shear forces.
The Project
We are building a passive torsion beam apparatus designed to directly measure gravity/shear interactions on lunar regolith. This experiment addresses anomalies observed in Apollo mission data and aims to provide new empirical insights that could benefit future lunar missions, bases, and resource utilisation.
This is hands-on, data-driven research using precision machined aluminium and tungsten components, vacuum testing, and high-quality materials. Our goal is to challenge conventional models with direct measurements in simulated lunar conditions.
Current Progress

Initial investment already secured
Prototyping underway with machined aluminium and tungsten parts
Design refinements based on classic torsion balance principles adapted for the Moon

How the Funds Will Be Used (by Echo Shear Labs Inc.)

Precision machined aluminium and tungsten components
Vacuum chamber parts and instrumentation
Testing, iteration, and assembly
Documentation and data analysis

Why Your Support Matters
Every donation helps accelerate this independent research project and brings us closer to contributing meaningful data to lunar science.
Transparency Note: All funds raised will go directly to Echo Shear Labs Inc. for project expenses. Regular updates with photos and progress reports will be posted.
Thank you for supporting curiosity-driven science and helping advance our understanding of gravity on the Moon.
