Echelon Santa Barbara is Santa Barbara's largest cycling club, with a core mission to promote the sport of competitive cycling for young men and women, as a means of encouraging a healthy lifestyle. Echelon 's Junior Cycling Program provides coaching and mentoring addressing proper training, safety, diet, and technique to junior riders between the ages of 8-18.

Over the past 12 months our program has expanded from 3 kids to 18 active riders, with more interest and inquiries every week. As our program has grown we've encountered kids that are very interested in joining our program but whose families may not have the financial resources to purchase a suitable bicycle for competitive road training, especially during the initial training period.
Most recently we accepted four exceptional young riders from the Riviera Youth Bike Team, a local non-profit that creates a "long-term positive impact on the health and fitness of 'at-risk' children by developing and fostering a connection to cycling."

In order to support our Junior Cycling Program and sustain an active program of 18-25 kids, Echelon needs to develop and maintain a fleet of "loaner bikes" , sized for younger riders with correct controls, drop bars, road wheels and tires, etc. This fleet will remain the property of the club, allowing prospective junior riders the opportunity to evaluate our program without the high initial investment of a road bicycle, especially for boys and girls that are still growing and/or whose families are of limited means. Kids that decide to remain in our program after the initial loan period (typically 90 days) will eventually need to get their own bikes, and loaner bikes can then be made available to other new riders.

We've recently found four ideal bikes, now we need your help to fund this program. Funds raised here will go directly to purchase and equip these bikes.
Thank you so much for your help!
