Hi! We are the children of Gae and Kevin Thompson. We started this GoFundMe for our parents. Some of you may know and some may not, but our dad, Kevin started an uphill battle fighting cancer about a year ago. His journey continues to evolve in challenging and unexpected ways that are creating financial hardship.

After a full recovery from prostate cancer last summer, other symptoms began to emerge in the fall/winter that contributed to Kevin losing employment and health insurance. This substantially delayed essential medical care.

After several hospitalizations and intense testing, Kevin has now been diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma that is located in numerous organs including a large mass in his stomach that currently cannot be removed.

Kevin’s most recent hospital stay is going on 5 weeks long. He is currently still in the hospital and will start cancer treatment as an in-patient before transferring to a rehab center. Unfortunately, he will not be able to work until he recovers, and even then, we are unsure what his options will be. The financial impact has been overwhelming. Between medical bills, mortgage, utilities, and daily living expenses, the bills continue to pile up despite his life being on pause.

Recovery won’t be easy or short and we are asking for support to help ease their financial burden during this difficult time. Every donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward helping them cover essential expenses including health insurance premiums and medical and household bills while he recovers.
