Carmen and Jude's Fire Recovery

On Monday December 7th at 4:30AM, Carmen and Jude's Queens home was engulfed in a horrific and fast-moving fire that destroyed the entire house and all of their belongings. Luckily, Jude and Carmen escaped out a window and jumped from the second floor to safety.
We are raising funds to help them rebuild: they need everything. This money will go toward items such as eye glasses, dishes, towels, toiletries, phones, a deposit on a new apartment, literally everything that one needs to start over. In a single moment, their entire material lives were gone.
I cannot emphasize enough that they escaped with only their lives-- they did not even have shoes on as they stood on the side walk in the December cold watching their home burn to the ground.
During this season of family, giving and joy, think of Carmen and Jude without a home, without a Christmas tree, in Red Cross temporary housing with only one another on Christmas day and find it in your heart to help them.
