Stephanie’s Cancer Battle

To know Stephanie is to love her. She radiates light with her beautiful smile and fiery hair. She has brightened the lives of so many with her kindness.
She is an amazing mother and is the rock of her family. She will do anything for her boys and she loves them with all she has.
She is an incredible friend and her loyalty is unmatched. She’s the type of friend who will keep all your secrets and never passes judgment.
She is a sister. A co-worker. A student.
She was also recently diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. At 38 years young she has had to navigate this scary diagnosis largely alone.
When we asked Stephanie if we could reach out to the community for help, she was hesitant to say the least. She didn’t feel comfortable with the idea of asking for help. Steph is fiercely independent and used to doing a lot of hard things on her own. It’s one of the reasons we love her so much and are so proud of her. But some things you just can’t do alone…and cancer is one of them. We want Stephanie to feel the love of her community. And to know how deeply we are all rooting for her. We want Stephanie to know we are standing beside her. And know that she is not alone and the whole community is fighting right along with her. Our hope in asking the community for help is that Steph can focus on fighting and healing and not have the stress of financial burden weighing on her. She has a long and difficult journey ahead of her. Months of chemotherapy and then surgery.
