Edit: I made the decision to put Zelda down today (8/19). Her WBC and other levels were abnormally high. The vet told me there was no way she’d truly be back to normal with levels that high. The vet thinks it was cancer/lymphoma. I decided I didn’t want her to go through anymore suffering. If you’d like to donate to my gofundme to cover vet costs I’d really appreciate it. I’m in a lot of debt because of this. I tried my hardest to get her better and there was nothing I could do. I feel hopeless.
Hello! I’m raising funds for my cat Zelda, who has just been diagnosed with congestive heart failure at 5 years old. I’ve had her since she was a little kitten of 2 months old. She just turned five on July 20th. This has all happened so suddenly. I noticed she hadn’t been acting like herself for the past few days, but I thought maybe she was anemic since there had been a flea infestation in my apartment. I took her to the vet hospital, and they sent her home with some probiotics and flea preventatives. Her condition just got worse after this. I noticed she was having trouble breathing, and I immediately took her to the emergency vet, where they found fluid surrounding her lungs and heart. They hospitalized her over night and ran a ton of tests, ultimately deciding that she does indeed have CHF. She’s doing better now and is stable, and I will be proceeding with treating her with the proper medication and medical care. But I definitely wasn’t expecting this sudden influx of vet bills. The pet insurance I have for her currently only covers a quarter of the expenses. If you are feeling nice enough to donate and help my cause, I really would appreciate it. My cats are like my babies, I couldn’t imagine not providing them with the best treatment and care they need. I hope some of you guys can relate to that sentiment. If you do decide to donate, I thank you so much from the very bottom of my heart. ❤️
Much Love,
— Shelby
