Dave's Cancer Battle

By Cindy Clark -- Dave Swanson, Producer and owner of Love Juice Labs, a Riverside CA-based recording studio, has recently been fighting an intense battle with cancer. 

 

As a client of Dave's, I am writing this on behalf of him and his family because they are in need of support. It's hard even to put this into words. I was tracking at Dave's just prior to his cancer diagnosis. I saw him full of life jogging down the sidewalk on his studio break, preparing to take a trip with his wife Donna. Dave is one of the coolest people I've ever met. I think all of his clientele know that. I only write in first-person to emphasize the impact Dave has had on not only his family but the community around him, the people he has worked with, the Southern California rock scene, rock as a whole. I personally stumbled upon Dave when a friend recommended him to me. I don't want to use another engineer. His sound is impeccable. He's a brilliant, kind man who works very hard to provide for his family. He goes above and beyond with attention to detail as I've never seen to produce the highest quality sound at a [in my opinion] criminally underpriced rate. He really is the best. I've met guys that charge exponentially more, with much poorer results. I know I'm not even close to alone in this experience. He's as real as they come. I didn't know when I met Dave that over a decade prior I was a teenager listening to music Dave had produced. I'd have never thought that I'd have the opportunity to work with someone who created music so important to me in my youth. He produced bands like As I Lay Dying, Rufio, The Beautiful Mistake, Horse the Band and so many more. Look it up.

 

Dave’s been through surgery and aggressive chemo in these last months. He’s lost a considerable amount of weight and he is attempting to recover. He has had his bladder removed and a new bladder created out of his intestines/colon. His wife Donna is having to quarantine to prevent Dave from acquiring even more infection as she is currently his caregiver while he recovers and he has post-operation faced infection/heightened infection risk already.

His medical bills are just racking up and the goal I wrote here isn’t even a drop in the bucket. The family needs monetary support. Now would be the time to help out if Dave has ever undercharged you as he has me for his incredible talents. Please donate to help the Swansons if you’ve been impacted by Dave in any way or the music he has created. He deserves any kind of relief as he is a great human being. Let’s make this burden lighter for him and his family as the world needs minds like his on this earth. Anything helps at this time.
