Support Ashley's Journey to Motherhood
Hello, my name is Ashley, currently 33 years of age and married to Sean. I have fought irregular menstrual cycles ever since after high school. Growing up, my father always had my sister and I on birth control to protect us and to help with our periods. I have been diagnosed with PCOS which has caused me discomfort and struggles monthly when it comes to regular cycles. In the year 2011, I met Sean and we began dating in June of that year. Shortly after, I stopped taking birth control because I felt like I was with the right person for me. Here we are in 2024, still together and stronger than ever, but unfortunately, we are watching everyone around us build families and we have been unsuccessful in building ours
In the beginning of this year, I went in and had my fallopian tubes flushed out and had polyps removed on the inside of my uterus. I have not been told I cannot carry a child, I am just struggling to ovulate. After starting back at Wal-Mart, I learned that they help with fertility and insurance can help with it so I am using the benefit. On that note, it has been decided that we are going to seek out IVF to hopefully achieve our family dream. I am/have been communicating with the fertility clinic and have completed a ton of ultrasounds and blood work to ensure I am eligible. My insurance is paying for a cycle of IVF, however, we have a deductible of $5,936 but they are allowing us to pay 50% of that in order to be able to start the treatment.
I am one who hates asking for help, I like to fail and fall on my face before I reach out and ask for any help from anyone. It makes me feel like a failure and makes me feel like junk. I am sharing my story in hopes that by sharing it with you guys, we will be able to have a successful cycle of IVF and I would one day soon be able to announce that I am a mother. If you can't donate, that's fine, I appreciate you stopping by and reading this.
I love you all.
