This is for my dear friend Linda Novotny and her battle with breast cancer.... She is one of the strongest people I know...
This fundraiser is for the Novotny family, Linda, her husband Dave, and 9 year old son Dawson. Linda is in a fight for her life fighting breast cancer for the second time...this time it has metastasized to her lungs. We have been going to chemo every Wednesday for a year now driving 2.5 hours each way, and there is no end in sight (which is ultimately what we want). This treatment is what is keeping her alive. And she does each treatment with such grace and patience and willingness to fight the good fight.....she fights for everyday, every year she can get. I am honored to call her friend and I count it a priviledge to hold this fund raiser for her.
I'm Sally Chappell and in addition to this GoFundMe campaign, I along with a wonderful group of running buddies from Warsaw to Chicago, have decided to run a half marathon in honor of Linda and to raise money for her family. On September 27th the 5 of us, myself (Sally Chappell), Patricia Richardson, Gina Hope-Wireman, Rand Chiropractic Center / Dr. Susan Green, and Dawn Boehmer will be running the Women Rock Chicago Half Marathon. As you can imagine, weekly travels that involve 5 hours in the car, along with 4-6 hours of treatment/doctors appointments, can take its toll in the obvious form, but also in the form of financial need with medical bills, travel expenses, and prescriptions.
