Mountain Angels Sanctuary & Rescue

Donation protected

My name is Michele McCowan, and I am the Director of Mountain Angels Sanctuary and Rescue in Paradise Valley, Montana.  I focus on helping feral, stray, senior, abandoned, or injured cats, including those who have lost their guardians who have passed away and need a home environment to spend their final years.  I've been rescuing for 40 years, almost half of those years in Montana.  I provide a service for the community that is different than the local shelters. I live-trap ferals or homeless cats and socialize them to live in group settings and give them a comfortable home, safely away from predators. My feline residents are not kept in cages after their initial health tests and spay/neuter surgeries.  We have indoor/outdoor enclosures where the cats can come and go in and out as they please. They are provided with everything they need to live long and happy lives.

I have recently begun to take in Siberian Huskies who are retired sled dogs who have spent their lives hard at work and need a place to relax and play in their older years.  They have limited years left and it's my mission to make sure they know what it's like to be part of a big family, be dogs, and have fun.

I am asking for help from the community and friends.       Last winter, the cats indoor area had water leakage under the floor and the hot water heater needs replaced. The water under the house damaged the floors and the walls are beginning to mold.  The floors are unsafe to walk on and the cats need to be moved immediately.

I have two small buildings picked out that are pre-built that I can move the cats into while repairs are being done on their rooms. I need to raise funds to move the cats and then start the renovation.  I've estimated the initial costs to start the process, and I'm hoping that I can move them while the weather is warm. The additional buildings will be used for future cat residents, as new ones are starting to arrive and I will need to expand their areas in the near future.

Any and all help is so greatly appreciated! I've been paying the expenses for the rescues for a long time by working additional jobs, but this year is beyond what I feel I can do alone.  I will continue to provide this service for the community, but will not be able to take in additional animals until this project and renovation is complete.

This means a lot to me, and the residents of Mountain Angels Sanctuary.  No donation is too small! Every little bit helps. I have a facebook page "Mountain Angels" that features our residents and updates regularly. Please visit my page, and if you cannot donate to their cause, please SHARE my page with your friends that may be able to help out.

I would like to continue my RESCUE and SANCTUARY effort for years to come and hope that I can post a success story in the next couple of months and photos of the cats' new home.  I appreciate every SHARE, every DONATION, and every bit of support in my effort.

Thank you so very much,

Michele and the residents of Mountain Angels Sanctuary and Rescue.
