EBRD Community NEW BREATH initiative for Ukriane
Donation protected
A protracted war on Ukraine is detrimental to the psychological health of the Ukrainian population. Today we are witnessing a dramatically increasing demand for psychological support, especially by women and kids – the most vulnerable individuals that suffered from shelling or occupation, that were forced to leave their homes, that lost someone or are relatives of soldiers or prisoners of war.
The “New Breath” initiative was designed to:
(a) Increase the capacity of psychologists and social workers in Ukraine to deal with the increasing demand for psychological and psycho-educational support. The initiative will provide training for psychologists on the “Add Strength” program that was developed by the Institute of Mother and Child of Poland in partnership with UNICEF to improve the well-being of parents and caregivers and to enhance their ability to support their children. The initiative will also train social workers and teachers on the "Emotional First Aid Kit" program designed to improve the self-awareness and resilience of kids.
(b) Grant social and psychological support to the most vulnerable Ukrainian families affected by the war.
(c) Organize free-of-charge educational camps for the most affected families.
Collected funds will be matched 1:1 by the EBRD Community Initiative.
The initiative will be implemented by the Charitable Organization “CF “CARITAS BERDYCHIV UGCC”.
