Ebony’s excision surgery.

Hi, my names Ebony. I am fundraising to receive my endometriosis excision surgery. I have had an onwards going battle for nearly 10 years now.

After nearly 8 years of being back and forth to my gp about my symptoms and some of those years spent trying to be referred to the gynaecology department and constantly being they will not see me, it’s ibs and that they cannot do anything for me and at one point even saying it is all in my head and I should be referred for therapy. Which as you can imagine is heart breaking when all you want is help and the support is not being given to you.

I eventually got excepted the gynae department and was so happy and delighted to finally be listened to. I saw a consultant who said to me that he believed I have endometriosis and was referred for a laparoscopy. However this made me worse as it was not treated properly and patched of disease were missed. After being assured this was not possible, later finding out the disease is in many more places.

Since the surgery my pain has been so much worse to the point where I have been sent home from work multiple times and cannot live my life freely because of it.

I have been to an and e department countless times to seek help and at some times have been left led in an and e in agony for up to 15 hours! I have been seen by the gynae team when this has happened although every time have just been sent home saying there is no more we can do and on one occasion saying they will not do anything at all.

I had to pay to see an endometriosis specialist in London as my last hope, he looked at my case and said that what they did in surgery was absolutely nothing and if it did do anything it would have been more damage as ablation is not the way to treat this condition.

He has told me excision surgery is my best course of treatment. With the disease now being completely behind my uterus, potentially the bladder and my ovaries have completely fused to my womb, not knowing where else it could be. The surgeon who will be performing this is the best of the best. This procedure is going to cost £12,500 At the bottom of all of this there is a 19 year old girl who cannot live her life due to this debilitating disease and being ignored constantly and dismissed by those who are supposed to help her. I have been given an opportunity to improve my life and be able to live and I am asking if anybody can support to help this happen and support in raising the money for my surgery I would be immensely grateful.
