Eboni's Road to Recovery

Our sister, Eboni Malveaux Barber, began the fight of her life in 2018, when she was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer. This journey started well before the diagnosis, when she gave birth to her second-born-son, Maier. Thankfully, the trial-and-error of breastfeeding led her to do a more in-depth inquiry into why her baby boy would only nurse from one side, which ultimately led to the discovery of Breast Cancer. 



After the diagnosis, Eboni began an extensive treatment process which included chemotherapy, radiation and a mastectomy. She was officially cancer-free as of July 18, 2019; however, her treatment continued until May of 2020. Eboni was thankful to have finally completed all treatments and surgeries relating to Breast Cancer, and she was excited to jumpstart her life anew and cancer free. Unfortunately, on September 3, 2020, Eboni was informed that her Breast Cancer developed into what is called a Brain Metastasis (a form of Brain Cancer), which requires immediate surgery (craniotomy) and treatment through radiation (gamma knife radiation). 



Our sister is devastated by this diagnosis, but she is prayerful that she can fully recover, and get back to life as she once knew it. In the meantime, Eboni won’t be able to further her career as a public school teacher because her life has come to a complete halt once again.  We have started this Go Fund Me account to ease the financial burden of Eboni and her husband Michael. Over the next few days, weeks, and months ahead they will need to be at countless doctor's appointments and hospital stays. As you can imagine, she will need financial assistance with medical expenses in excess of insurance, their daily living expenses and caring for their two boys, Myles and Maier. 


Any amount that you are able to contribute to Eboni and her family will aid in easing this financial burden, and will allow her to focus on what is most important—healing from this invasive disease.
