My name is Terry, and I’m the father of a brave young woman named Jewel. She is 25 years old, newly married, and 27 weeks pregnant with her first child — my future granddaughter.
Jewel is the kind of person who puts others first.
She works two jobs at our local hospital, helping patients every single day, even when she has been struggling to make ends meet. Her husband, Zach, is working two jobs as a mechanic to support their growing family. They are hardworking, humble, and kind — the kind of young couple just trying to build a life.
A few weeks ago, everything changed.
Jewel was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) — one of the rarest and most aggressive cancers there is.
It spreads quickly. It grows fast. It requires immediate and intense chemotherapy.
But Jewel is also pregnant.
And the chemotherapy the doctors recommended could harm her unborn baby.
She was forced into a decision no mother should ever have to make.
The doctors told her she should begin treatment immediately to save her own life —
but she may risk harming her child.
And so — with more courage than I can describe —
Jewel chose to forgo chemo right now, risking her own life so her baby could be safe.
She put her daughter’s life above her own.
As a father and soon-to-be grandfather, I have never been more heartbroken or more proud.
Jewel continues to work through exhaustion, fear, and rising medical bills. She and Zach are doing everything they can, but the reality is overwhelming. They need help — financial, emotional, spiritual — and they would never ask for it themselves.
That is why I am asking on their behalf.
I am trying to give my daughter every chance to survive this cancer, deliver her baby safely, and get the treatment she desperately needs as soon as she can. I want my granddaughter to grow up knowing her mother — knowing the woman who risked everything so she could have a life.
The funds from this campaign will help with:
Immediate medical expenses
Lost income from reduced work
Upcoming cancer treatments
Maternity needs
Transportation and care during treatment
Basic living expenses as she fights for her life
Anything you give — no matter how small — will make a difference.
And if you cannot donate, we ask simply that you share Jewel’s story and pray for her courage, healing, and protection over her baby.
From the bottom of my heart — thank you for reading, for caring, and for supporting my daughter in the fight of her life.
Jewel is a fighter.
Her baby is a miracle.
And with your help, she will have the chance to watch her daughter grow up.
— Terry (Jewel’s Dad)
