Eaton Fires Took Everything: Help the Sparrow-Caseys
Donation protected
Hello all,
This is Lauren & Ryan from Koreatown, LA and we are acting on behalf of our friends of many years who we consider family. While they are currently safe in Alhambra, they are much too exhausted to do much else besides survive so we have arranged this on their behalf with their permission, with all the funds and items donated going directly to them. Please read their story below and help if you can. <3
Help the Sparrow-Casey Family Start Over After Losing Everything in the Eaton Fire
On January 8, 2025, the Sparrow-Casey family—Lauren, Kyle, and their 3-year-old son Jack—lost their home in the devastating Eaton Fire that ripped through Altadena. They are now displaced, uncertain of the fate of Lauren’s parents’ home as well, coping with the loss of their beloved Altadena community, and facing the heartbreaking challenge of starting over with nothing.
They’ve lost their home, their belongings, and their sense of security. Kyle, a middle school math teacher, and Lauren, a professional clinical counselor, have always been pillars of their community, and Jack has always brought so much joy to those around him. This tragedy has shattered their lives, especially as they are expecting their second child.
What They Need:
Right now, the Sparrow-Casey family is urgently in need of financial support to cover the following:
Emergency essentials: Food, toiletries, and basic clothing
Childcare: Jack’s daycare was lost in the fire, and they need funds to secure a new one
Furniture & household items: Everything from beds to towels, bedding, kitchenware, toiletries, etc. Also if anyone has an extra air purifier it would be greatly appreciated as the air pollution in LA is deadly toxic right now.
Support for the expecting mother: Items needed for an expecting mom, a new baby, and toys to comfort their 3-year-old during this difficult time
Every donation, no matter how small, will make a huge difference in helping this family regain a sense of stability and begin to restore their lives.
Other Ways to Help:
If you are unable to donate money and local to the LA area, we are also looking for donations of physical items like clothing, bedding, and toddler-friendly items. Please feel free to reach out if you have something you can contribute.
The Sparrow-Caseys have always been there for their community—now it’s our turn to be there for them. Your generosity will help them get through this unimaginable hardship, one step at a time.
Thank you for any support you can offer—whether it’s through a donation, sharing this campaign, or sending your well wishes to the family.
With gratitude,
Lauren & Ryan
I am unable to provide pictures as the area is restricted while the fire rages but here is an article with video of a museum two minutes from their former home :(
