Dear friends, family, and compassionate strangers,
We are reaching out with heavy hearts after our grandparents lost their beloved Altadena home in the recent Eaton Fire this January 2025. They have lived in that house for as long as we can remember—a place where our childhood memories were formed, where relatives were welcomed in times of need, and where generosity was extended beyond our family to friends and church members alike. Now, everything they’ve built and cherished over a lifetime is gone.
My brother and I last visited them during Christmas. We never imagined that just two weeks later, the very house where so many of our family stories began would be reduced to ash. During our visit, Grandma proudly showed us souvenirs from her travels, each memento with its own unique tale and shared memories of our great-grandfather, who also called that house home. Today, all of those precious keepsakes and the joy they represented are lost, leaving an overwhelming sense of emptiness.
Anyone who knows our grandparents understands their big hearts. They’ve always been the ones helping others whether it was taking in family members with nowhere else to go or volunteering long hours at the Church. They’ve dedicated their lives to caring for people around them, and now, after this devastating fire, they are the ones who need our support. Thankfully, they were able to evacuate safely, but the destruction was total. In less than 24 hours, we learned their home was gone.
We humbly ask for your kindness and generosity in helping them begin the long process of rebuilding. Every donation—no matter the size—will go directly toward restoring a safe place for them to call home and replacing some of the essentials they’ve lost. It will give them a chance to start over with hope and security. While we know no amount can ever bring back the memories and cherished items, your support can help them move forward with hope and stability.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for considering a donation. Even if you can’t donate, sharing this campaign within your network is a tremendous way to help. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with our family during this unimaginable loss and helping us give our grandparents the fresh start they deserve
With gratitude & love,
Chelsey & AJ
