Hi, I run the popular Youtube channel Easy Theory (https://www.youtube.com/c/EasyTheory), which is devoted to making Computer Science theoretical concepts easier to understand. For most of its existence, it has acted as a repository for CS theory problem solving, which many students have found very helpful for their studies.
I am in the process of revamping the entire channel; there is so much about CS theory to learn and how it relates to what we do every day. My efforts will now be divided into two channels: Easy Theory, which will focus on landmark results (including new ones!) and their philosophical ramifications; and the sister channel "Easy Theory Problem Solving" (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4WpVKfFgeIQA7daZSvFWsA), which by its name implies it will focus on specific problem solving.
This new focus indicates that there will be a large volume of new videos coming. My existing video setup was a simple tripod with a whiteboard, and has not been easy to work with. I want to revitalize the set to be more flexible, easy to record and edit, and have higher quality (video/audio/content-wise).
That's what this fundraiser is about. With your support, I would be able to buy all of the video studio gear necessary to complete the studio.
My vision is to have a dual camera setup: one that faces me and another attached to a C-stand that is a “top down” view of what I’m doing on my desk. The idea is to provide high quality visuals of me talking and for students and professionals to connect the dots. The overall goal is to inspire many people, even without a CS background, about how cool CS theory is.
Here is the estimated budget and gear (including tax/shipping/etc.):
- Blackmagic Cinema "main" Camera ($2500)
