PTA is allowed an annual fundraiser to raise money to support the school and teachers. We use these donations to enhance classroom supplies, recognize teachers throughout the year, help to cover the expenses of school aides, purchase new playground equipment, and hold events throughout the year like STEAMfest (aka science night,) Cultural Celebration, and reading breakfast. The PTA has paid for a science specialist from 2016 through 2020. If we exceed our goal, we hope to bring back science or another specialty aide. PTA parents volunteer countless hours to support the amazing children at EASTWOOD! Please help us to help them!!
This year we are hosting the EASTWOOD STUDENTS CARE fundraiser. We want to encourage and support our students to "do good deeds" in their communities. Instead of raising funds for running (as in years past), families/friends will pledge funds to encourage and support students to volunteer in their community. Any help, big or small, can make a huge impact in our community. Great ideas include cleaning up a local park, helping a neighbor, writing cards to frontline workers, volunteering for a non-profit, the list goes on. The goal of this event is to teach our amazing children that THEY MATTER and have the power to make the world a better place.
We will keep track of the total minutes and type of good deeds that the students achieve. There will be individual, classroom, and schoolwide prizes awarded. We will also create a schoolwide flipgrid where students can share their experiences.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 for the PTA. For our beloved 5th graders- the PTA will host a fun year end event, and please consider donations in support of our upcoming kindergarten classes!
