#EastonStrong -Help us win the battle with AML
Donation protected
In April 2019, Rachel Dorsey and Mark Hawkinson found out that their 19 month old baby boy Easton had Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML). Over the course of the next 7 months Easton practically lived in the hospital while he endured intensive chemo treatments, surgeries and all manner of side effects from it all. But he fought hard and went into remission in November that year.
Unfortunately, we found out last week that Easton, now 3 years old, has relapsed and is already in the hospital to undergo the intense chemo treatments again. The treatments will force him to be in the hospital for months at a time. This journey will be much longer and harder than the first because he will also need a Bone Marrow Transplant once he goes into remission. The doctors keep saying "if" he goes into remission but we are believing "when". The treatments and the transplant could take well over a year. Easton is such a tough and spirited little boy and we know he will fight hard. Easton is never alone in the hospital - Rachel stays with him almost constantly and Mark is there whenever he's not at work. Sadly his brother Deegan will not be able to visit him in the hospital due to COVID restrictions.
Please keep Easton and his family in your thoughts and prayers. If you are able to help support this family and lessen the financial burden throughout this extremely tough time, it would be greatly appreciated. Donations will go to help with additional expenses created by the hospital stay- food, fuel, lost wages for Mark, bills etc. No amount is too small. Rachel is doing a great job at keeping friends and family updated on the #EastonStrong Facebook page and we will update this page periodically.
