Eastman Avenue Elementary Pep Team

The Eastman Avenue Elementary School Pep Team in East Los Angeles is comprised of 65 students (1st -5th grade). The team includes cheer, dance, and drill team routines, which shows the diversity of the members’ skill sets. The team members started off with no prior drill team, cheer, or dance training; however, in the last 5 years, Eastman Pep Team has received 1st place in the Boyle Heights Christmas Parade, 1st place at the Sharp International Drill Team Competition, and 3rd place at the East LA Christmas Parade. There is great pride and enthusiasm as they represent their school in community events.

Eastman is a Title 1 school that services a predominantly low-income, Latina/o/x community. Thus, the uniforms, accessories (e.g., pom-poms), application costs for parades, and cost of choreographer are not easily accessible to our families. We are asking for donations to buy uniforms for our amazing students unable to purchase them for themselves. This includes the costs of accessories, along with a choreographer and an application fee for community events.
