Easter egg Hunt Fundraiser for blind children

My name is Lexie, I am 19 years old. I have recently been in a tragic accident where a metal frame fell and happened to land on my eye pointy side down, rupturing through my eye whilst I was sleeping.

I was told there was no chance to save the eye however, luckily after many major surgeries and thanks to my incredible team of surgeons they have managed to save my eye- however I am left with no vision out of it.

As someone who has gone from 20/20 vision to where I am now, it is a heartbreaking experience. Re-learning how to live with sight in one eye most definitely comes with it's mental and physical challenges.

Knowing how it's made me feel, and the immense gratitude I have to still currently have sight out of my other eye. My heart goes out to those who haven't been as lucky as I have. In addition, I have been incredibly lucky to have a great support system throughout this time and knowing that other children and young adults don't receive the care that I have is heart-wrenching.

I am hosting an easter egg hunt on Gerrards Cross common on 9th April (Easter Sunday) with hopes of many children to come along and join in and have fun.

There is a £5.00 entry fee per child - with all proceeds going to The Royal Society For Blind Children. This charity helps provide many things such as mental support and therapy, hosting activities and day trips and helps with day to day life for those who need it.

I hope to see as many of you as possible come along, and help raise as much as we can for a brilliant charity that is close to my heart, all whilst spreading the message to appreciate the things in life, such as eyesight that we so easily take for granted!
