Send Synergy to East Coast Colleges

Donation protected
In 2011, we opened Synergy Quantum Academy,  a public charter high school  located in South Los Angeles with 400 students in grades 9-11.  Our freshman class was the largest with 220 students. Our first graduating class was the class of  2013.  The graduates chose to attend colleges close to home with UC Irvine being the furthest away.  In 2014, one student ventured to northern California to attend UC Berkeley.

This past October eight students from the class of 2015 traveled with me to Boston and New York to visit 11 colleges. While visiting Hobart William Smith College, we were invited to hear Victoria Kennedy speak.  In the Class of 2015, we have students attending colleges  as far away as in Maine, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Hawaii. 81% of the students come from homes where Spanish is their first language. What extraordinary tales they will have to share with their families and their peers.

This year, there is a group of 18 students who hope to visit colleges in Boston and New York. Fifteen will be first generation college attendees. They are working hard to raise money to go, however, for some this dream may not become a reality without your help. The trip costs about $1300 per student which includes, air fare, ground transportation and all lodging and meals. We plan to leave on Sunday, October 18 and return on Saturday, October 24, during fall break. No amount is too small.
