Firstly, I want to thank everyone who generously donated to Phase One of our Temple Refurbishment. Thanks to your selfless contributions we raised Forty Five Thousand Pounds (£45K) to convert the loft space of our Ashram in East London's busy Green Street. These works are due to be completed at the end of this week. We now have the potential for 6 more permanent bed spaces for sincere devotees who want to stay and serve at the East London Math as well as a new 1st class bathroom and spacious storage room for the Temple Deities dresses and paraphernalia.

However, before we are able to begin using these new facilities the local Building Control  officer has said we have to install a fully integrated Fire Alarm System  and  change the existing doors on the ground and first floors to fire doors along with converting the dividing walls to fire rated walls. We were not aware of this before the works began and so we had not budgeted for this expense. The total cost for the fire upgrade works is £4,200 (four thousand two hundred pounds). Without these works, the loft conversion will not be signed off as complete and we will not be able to utilise the new space.

As well as the cost of the fire upgrade works we need to furnish the new rooms and estimate a cost of £2000 (two thousand pounds) for beds, mattresses, cupboards, bed linen and other furniture.

The remaining £4,800 will be for bringing the existing bathrooms and other rooms up to the same standard as the new loft conversion rooms and refurbishing Srila Govinda Maharaj's room as a VIP guest room for visiting Acharyas and Vaishnava dignitaries.

Whatever contribution you can make to help us will be most gratefully received in the service of Their Lordships Sri Sri Guru Gauranga Radha Shyamasundar Giridharijiu, the Deities of Srila Sridhar Maharaj installed by his desire in London and personally worshipped by Srila Govinda Maharaj who stayed in the East London Math on 21 different occasions during his world tours.
