East Gainesville Film Project

Hello My Name is Jarrell Daniels or "Sky Luca$. I was originally born in Montgomery Alabama but moved to Gainesville when I was 11 years old.  I was Raised on the West side of Gainesville  attending Littlewood , Fort Clarke,  & Buchholz. I Recently Moved to the East side of town and it has been an extremely eye opening experience to what I thought Gainesville was. Mostly Through Music I have met a lot of people who were born & raised on the east side of town and some of the stories that I've heard have left me speechless.  Though there has been plenty of attempts to revive the area I still feel that people who aren't familiar with this side of town don't even know the story or even once like me has no idea what is going on. That is why I want to produce a Film telling the story of the "Forgotten" People of East Gainesville. I feel that this would be a good staple for the community because it would be able to show the Culture of Gainesville rather than just the influence of the University of Florida.  I am Asking for $3500 Dollars to Pursue Filming this Documentary. $2000  Will Go into Shooting / Editing / Producing the film. $1000  will go into Photography For capturing Images of the culture of Gainesville . $500 will go into producing music for the film gathering artist from the east side of town to tell the story of the Culture.  I would greatly love the support from my friends peers because I think this is a story worth telling and I believe that not only it will bring awareness to the community but also put a spotlight on the great people this city has to offer. I would be completely grateful if I could get the support from the city into pursuing this project and want to be able to deliver something that the city will be proud of for years to come!
